Pantone Colour of the Year 2019 ‘Living Coral’

Pantone announced their 2019 Colour of the Year – ‘Living Coral’ 16-1546.

Pantone describe it as “An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge“.

Coral is such a versatile colour, it looks fantastic with light blues and greys, but also really works with dark grey and navy.

If you don’t want to go for a full coral scheme it’s easy to add in this colour with accessories such as cushions, throws, crockery or even flowers.

I’ve introduced coral into rooms using pale greys, duck egg blue, charcoal grey and accents of copper or bronze.

You could use artwork to introduce an accent colour, this flamingo picture brightens up the room and adds a splash of colour against pale grey and duck egg blue.

Another way I love to add colour is using fresh flowers or plants, these roses would look amazing in a grey kitchen or living room.
